
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American professional soccer player who is captain and striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), the highest division of women's soccer in the United States, and the United States women's national soccer team.She co-captained the United States women's national soccer team alongside Carli Lloyd and Megan Rapinoe between 2018 until 2020. [8][98][9] Morgan was selected by the Western New York Flash at the top of the list in the 2011 WPS Draft. She had completed her degree from Berkeley in the early part of the year. Morgan also played for California Golden Bears. She made her professional debut at the club and helped the team win their league championship. Morgan at the time, who was 22 years young, was the youngest national player to play at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011, where she was second. In the 123rd minute of the semi-final clash against Canada during the 2012 London Olympics she scored the game-winning goal. She ended 2012 with 28 goals, 21 assists, and Mia Hamm was the only American woman to score both 20 and 20 goals. It made her the sixth-youngest U.S. player ever to hit 20 goals in a season. After being named U.S. Soccer Female Player of the year, Morgan was also selected as a FIFA World Player of the Award finalist. Morgan played a role in helping the United States win the title at the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cups. She was selected for the Dream Team and won the Silver Boot in 2019.
